Is it possible to charge the meiza with another charger? What happens if you charge your phone with a non-original charger? Charging from an iPad harms your Phone: debunking the myth

I am sure that almost every person today has a mobile phone. Modern smartphones have been functioning as a music player, video player, camera, and router for quite some time now, in addition to their main purpose of receiving and making calls. Today's smartphones are more reminiscent of computers than phones in their configuration and power.

In view of all of the above and the harsh daily operating conditions, the battery life of the smartphone does not shine with its duration. The average "survivability" of an Android-based phone or tablet ranges from 8 to 12 hours. After this time, the phone is not alive without recharging. At home there are no problems with this. Sockets are always nearby, you can use the smartphone without removing it from the charger .

But the phone doesn’t always go dead when you’re at home. This can happen when you are with friends, acquaintances, or just in a cafe. Of course, friends at home also have chargers. But the manufacturer is completely different, and on the power supply cube itself the current strength is written completely different from what your smartphone needs. And it doesn’t matter whether the difference is larger or smaller. This raises the question, is it possible to charge your smartphone with such a charger, different from yours?

Most smartphone users are afraid to use chargers from similar phones, but with different amperage characteristics. From now on you will know that there is no need to be afraid of this.

The fact is that you can burn the device only if the charger produces an output voltage greater than what it should be. Nowadays the standard output voltage is used, namely 5 Volts. It is almost impossible to meet another.

As an exception, we can cite the example of modern chargers that have the Quick Charge function. These gizmos are capable of producing voltages of 7, 9 and 12 Volts.

But even despite this, such devices use a default voltage of 5 Volts. A higher voltage is possible only after the charger coordinates this procedure with the power system of the connected device.

Therefore, you can safely charge your phone with another charger. The only thing to consider is the output voltage.

Well, there is absolutely no need to be afraid of the fact that the current strength on the power supplies for different phones is different. Today, chargers and portable batteries, also known as power banks, have output currents of 1A, 3A and 2.1A. And this is the limit that these devices can produce.

By connecting to such devices,The smartphone will take the current value that it needs. If the current indicated on the charger is less than what is needed for a smartphone, then this is also not a problem. The only drawback is that the phone will take a little longer to charge than with its original charger. As for the rest, there is no difference at all.

Therefore, if you have a question about whether it is possible to charge your modern phone using a charger from another, then you can safely do so.

Technology has long become an integral part of the everyday life of almost every person. Computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and so on. Young companies achieve success, and those that were pillars of past years disappear.

But among all, the “apple” company stands out - Apple. “Yabloko” has long been a sign of quality, and the products, although not cheap, are distinguished by the latest developments and elegant style.

The wide variety of gadgets has led owners to wonder whether they can use a standard smartphone. But first, a little information about the legendary company.

A Brief History of Apple

You could write several rather lengthy treatises on the history of Apple and still miss something important.

The corporation was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne. Apple has become one of the most famous manufacturers of software, laptops, tablets, phones, personal computers, audio players, etc.

The company's main center is located in Cupertino, California.

Apple's annual market capitalization has remained the highest in the world for several years. The company's founders created such practical and aesthetically attractive devices that a kind of consumer cult was built around Apple.

Until 2007, the company name included the word Computer. This was due to the fact that for the first thirty years Apple focused on the development of personal computers and suitable software. However, over time, Apple began to devote more time to more mobile devices: iPhones, iPads and iPods.

What is an iPad?

One of Apple's most popular gadgets is the iPad.

A lightweight and convenient tablet provides uninterrupted access to the World Wide Web and successfully performs the basic functions of a personal computer.

Undoubtedly, it will not be able to completely replace a PC or laptop: the need for recharging and the small amount of memory will not allow it to work autonomously for days. Due to the specific operating system, it is not possible to install programs on the tablet that require specific software.

Among the main differences from conventional tablets are:

  • Excellent battery for longer battery life.
  • High sensitivity touch screen.
  • An operating system that responds quickly to requests.
  • Easy installation of programs.

But the gadget is not without its drawbacks:

  • A closed file system that does not allow developers to change it, similar to the Linux OS.
  • Lack of built-in USB ports.
  • Lack of a standard Flash player from Adobe.

How is an iPhone different from a smartphone?

If everything is clear with tablets, then how does the iPhone differ from thousands of other smartphones?

Owners of Apple smartphones note that the main advantage of the iPhone is its operating system. Unlike Android, whose updates are installed on phones of any brand, iOS is designed specifically for Apple. Thus, random “lags” of the system are practically excluded.

Applications downloaded through a special store are suitable for every smartphone. iOS is less susceptible to viruses than other operating systems. The elegant shape and body of the devices are not only beautiful, but also durable.

A little about batteries

Before answering the question of whether it is possible to charge an iPhone using an iPad, you need to learn a little more about the properties of the battery in these devices. Since the days of the first telephones, the material from which batteries for smartphones and tablets are made has changed. Batteries have become lighter and more practical.

The Apple devices listed above use lithium-ion polymer batteries. Due to the fact that lithium is one of the lightest metals, the battery is lightweight but practical.

Their main difference from nickel batteries is the ability to charge the battery at any time. Also, gadget owners do not have to worry that incomplete charging can damage the battery and reduce its operating time.

To ensure proper operation of an iPhone or iPad, developers recommend fully charging the battery once a month and then completely discharging it. This will help keep the electrons moving.

Is it possible to charge an iPhone using an iPad charger?

Owners of Apple gadgets often lose the charger from their smartphone or tablet. After that, they try by all means to find out whether it is possible to charge an iPhone using an iPad charger, and vice versa.

Some people think that if it’s from an iPhone, it can ruin the battery. Some people sincerely believe that one gadget does not fit the parameters of others.

It's time to dispel the myths and find out the truth.

Pros of the solution

Smartphone owners note that you can easily charge your iPhone using an iPad charger. The original accessories and devices fit together perfectly, and there are simply no connection problems.

The main advantage of this method of charging an iPhone from another Apple charger is the time savings. The charger that comes standard with your iPhone has a maximum output of one ampere. When charging from an iPad - two amperes. Thus, the time to fully charge the battery will be halved.

Also, if you use an iPad, you will no longer need to carry multiple chargers with you. This plus will be appreciated by those who need to constantly carry a smartphone, tablet and laptop with them. There are several cables in the bag that always get tangled.

However, is it possible to use an iPhone, since it is a more powerful device? Of course, it is possible, but it is worth noting that then the time to fully charge the battery will increase significantly.

Smartphone owners don't need to worry that a more powerful iPad charger will harm their iPhone. The maximum current indicated in the application does not play a big role, since smartphones have built-in controllers that do not allow more power to pass through than the gadget requires.

Minuses

But are there any disadvantages to this charging method? Users did not notice any significant deviations in the battery life of phones or tablets.

Most of all the information about how to charge your iPhone without damaging the battery's properties comes from the fact that almost all modern smartphones have batteries that do not last long. The owners are trying by all means to preserve them.

Thus, information has emerged that if you charge your phone using a tablet charger, then within a year the smartphone’s battery will become almost unusable. However, they forget to mention that, one way or another, most owners of Apple smartphones change batteries after a year.

Thus, there are no significant disadvantages from such charging.

Information from official sources

Undoubtedly, only the manufacturer will provide the most complete information about whether an iPhone can be charged using an iPad charger.

The support service on the official website reported that iPads usually come with a charger with a USB interface. This same adapter is great for iPhone and iPod.

Are other gadgets suitable?

Many owners of mobile devices at some point have a question: “Is it possible to charge an iPhone using an iPad, as well as from a computer via a cable?”

You can also charge gadgets from this company via USB connected to a computer or laptop. But first you need to figure out what ports were built into the PC. Modern personal computers are equipped with three types of USB ports: 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.

The maximum current strength in the first two types reaches five hundred milliamps or two and a half watts. The latest generation of ports output up to nine hundred milliamps or five watts. Charging time for iPhones and iPads will vary depending on battery size and port type.

The first and second generation USB ports deliver almost half the power, which means that the charging time will be almost twice as long as when using the third generation ports.

It is very easy to distinguish the third generation port from the rest - it is blue.

It turns out that charging Apple gadgets is very simple. You can use both original accessories and a standard USB cable connected to a personal computer.

Everyone has probably heard about the fact that phones, or rather their batteries, explode. The latest high-profile case is Xiaomi Mi A1, which exploded and miraculously did not injure its owner. The manufacturer immediately stated that the non-original charger was to blame. They say it doesn’t matter what you used to charge your smartphone - so it went off. For the “hard-eared user” this answer may be suitable, but for those who work closely with mobile technology it will only amuse them. In this article I want to tell you whether it is possible to charge your phone with another charger, a non-original one - that is, not the one that was included in the kit, but the one that you bought in a store or on AliExpress for 200-300 rubles. I think after this you will have no questions left!

What happens if you charge your smartphone with a non-original charger?

Nothing bad. The device will charge and work. Today, Chinese progress has reached the point where there is simply no dependence on who made the charger - the phone manufacturer or a third-party company. This moment does not play any role on the compatibility of the smartphone and charging! It's all about the standards by which charging is made. And by charging the same Xiaomi with another charger, not the original one, but from the same Samsung or Huawei, you will not burn it.

Of course, you shouldn’t save much and buy very cheap, nameless adapters and cables - there is a very high percentage of defects there. And even with them, I have never encountered a situation where the device burned out due to the power supply. Yes, the charger itself can break, it happens. But not more!

1 ampere, 2 amperes, 3 amperes - what amperage is needed?

Each charger power supply is marked with its voltage in Volts and current in Amperes. The most common adapters on sale are 1 Amp and 2 Amp. Which one should you buy for your phone? Yes, in principle, anyone!
The fact is that the mobile phone battery has its own controller, which will take exactly as much electricity as it needs. For example, if you have an iPhone that consumes a current of 1A, then connecting it to a non-original charger of 2A nothing bad will happen - it will be charged as if it were from the original charger with a current of 1 Ampere.

But if you connect it to a weaker charger, 0.5A or 0.7A, then it will also charge without problems. Only 2-3 times longer. That's all! Nothing can burn from this! Therefore, you can charge your phone with another, non-original charger and you shouldn’t listen to cunning manufacturers - their task is to force you to buy original accessories and pay two to three times more expensive. The same goes for iPhones and iPads. Their chargers cost 10 times more than Chinese originals. But there is no real difference!

Qi wireless charging

With non-original Qi wireless chargers, everything is exactly the same. There is absolutely no difference who made the charger - the same company as the smartphone itself or some other company. The Qi wireless charging standard is open and publicly available, which means any manufacturer can produce chargers using this technology and they will be compatible with phones without any problems.

Good day, dear readers! In this post I will tell you and give examples of how to properly charge your smartphone! All the details are under the cut :)

Nowadays, every person, and even more so a geek, has at least three chargers in the house for their Android devices. But all charges have a slight difference. A smartphone charger, for example, has a current of 1A, and a tablet charger has a current of 2A.

Most people have a question: is it harmful to charge a smartphone by charging from a tablet, or vice versa? And the main question is how to properly charge your smartphone? This question, of course, arises most often among newcomers to the mobile world. But still it takes place!

There are a lot of opinions about how to charge this or that device. Some people advise discharging the device’s battery to 0% each time and charging it to 100%. And some recommend keeping the charge between 20% and 80%. Complete discharge of the battery occurs if the battery is nickel, because nickel batteries have the so-called “memory effect”. But as we know, in modern devices the batteries are “lithium-ion”, and such batteries do not have this effect. Thus, we immediately exclude the myth of “0% discharge” from our methods of charging devices :)

Which method, then, will be more gentle on our batteries?

— Recharging the device

The most gentle mode for the device’s battery is to recharge it regularly. Many people advise that the battery charge should not drop even below 50%. I would advise you to recharge the device every time the charge drops to 20%. It is best to keep the charge between 20% and 80%.

— Do not leave the device to charge “overnight”

As I said above, the battery-friendly mode is from 20% to 80%. There is an opinion that if you leave the device on charge “overnight”, this is what shortens the battery life. But this applies more to “no-name” devices (China). Since most official, branded gadgets have built-in controllers that control the charging/discharging current of the battery. When the charge reaches 100%, the controller opens the key and the voltage stops being supplied to the battery, to avoid overcharging. So leave it overnight and don't be afraid of anything!

— Discharging at 0% IS USEFUL, but not often :)

Yes, yes, exactly the discharge to zero. Although I wrote above that this is very harmful to the battery, it needs to be done once a month. Now I will explain why! All of our devices display the charge as a percentage; due to frequent recharging, this indicator will show incorrect readings over time. You can calibrate these readings in a simple way: discharging the battery to zero and fully charging it to 100%.

— Keep the device in the refrigerator!

No, this is of course a joke about the refrigerator. But I must tell you that high temperatures shorten the life of the device’s battery. Those who have really wondered about the effect of temperature on lithium-ion batteries know that if you store it at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius for a year, the battery loses about 20% of its total capacity.

— Is it possible to charge a smartphone using a tablet charger?

We all, including myself, have at least two chargers in the house. In my case, this is charging from LG Nexus 4 (with an output current of 1.2 A) and from ASUS Nexus 7 (2012) with an output current of 2A. And no matter how much I want to, I either charge the tablet using a smartphone charger, or vice versa. So let's figure out whether such interchange of chargers is harmful?

Opinions on this matter are divided... Some say that a higher current than in the “native” charger can damage the battery or even damage the device. Others say that it is completely harmless to the battery.

But personally, I believe that the “interchangeability” of chargers has its place, and nothing will happen to your devices. Why? Because, as I already said, each device has charge/discharge controllers and a battery controller. So this same controller will not allow the device to “take” more current than it needs. If, for example, a smartphone is charged from a “native charger” with a current of 1A, then from charging a tablet (which has a current of 2A), the smartphone will also consume the 1A it needs.

IMHO

Personally, I charged my Galaxy Nexus with an ASUS Nexus 7 (2012) charger for a year, and nothing bad happened. And now I use the same charger from the Nexus 7 to charge the LG Nexus 4. And I don’t worry about battery damage, or even more so, the device failing!

What do you, dear readers, think about this? Is it possible to “interchange” chargers from different gadgets in the house?

How to charge your phone faster? The fastest way to speed up the charging process?

Perhaps everyone has encountered a nasty situation when, leaving home for an important meeting, they suddenly discovered that the charge in the mobile phone battery was virtually exhausted. With all this, there was damnably not enough time to charge it. It is logical that the question is how very quickly charge the phone, worries every second owner of a mobile accessory. Modern, a valid answer still exists. Is it fashionable to charge a phone? How can you charge a xiaomi mi pb with a two-amp charger? This is exactly what we will talk about now. It should also be noted right away that it is not recommended to wait for any miracles.

Change the power source

A charger is always included with every mobile phone. Its task is very simple: convert an alternating mains voltage of 220 Volts into a constant voltage and reduce it to a certain value determined by the characteristics of the accessory model used. If you carefully study the data provided on the charging case, you can see Input/Output there. For the owner who is interested in how to charge the phone very quickly, the data displayed in the 2nd line is more valuable. For example, it could be “5 V/300 mA”. What does it mean? The 1st number indicates the output voltage. In the vast majority of charges from modern mobile phones, it is always equal to 5 volts. The fast function is it possible to charge a regular phone with a larger or larger charger? This is designed to be comparable to the USB computer standard, which provides exactly the same 5 V.

At this point everyone knows how charge phone without charging, just connect it to the appropriate port of the system unit or laptop. But the 2nd number is the current supplied by the charger to the phone per unit of time. Depending on the charger model, this value can range from 300 mA to 1.2 A. For those who do not want to read further, how charge your phone faster, we can recommend simply changing the charger to one in which the current is higher than in the “native” one.

Amps and battery

One of the features of any battery is its electronic capacity, which indicates the amount of accumulated electronic energy. For example, a battery with a capacity of 1 Ampere, after being completely discharged, will be able to recover to its original state in 1 hour, provided that the charger supplies it with a current of 1 A. Accordingly, a charger delivering 300 mA will charge such a battery in approximately 3 hours . In this case, the capacity is usually specified in watts rather than milliamps. You can find out the battery current by simply dividing the power by the voltage. It would seem that it would be enough to change low-current charging to a stronger one. and you don’t have to think about how to charge your phone faster. But this does not give results in all cases.

Does fast charging kill your smartphone's battery?

Does it kill fast charging your phone's battery. For many years everyone believed that fast charging harms.

From time to time, you can hear from people who once studied how to quickly charge a Droid (phone) that if you change the “native” low-current charger to a stronger model, you can damage the phone. This statement is only partially correct. Modern mobile communication devices use a special microcontroller that regulates the amount of current supplied to the battery. In other words, if the “native” charger produces 300 mA, and it is changed to a model with 1 A, then you may encounter a situation where the controller will limit the incoming current to 300 mA. The difference in this case is dissipated as heat. From all of the above, the conclusion follows: if after replacing the charger the phone starts to get very hot, then you need to abandon this conventional method.

Use the updated version

For those who are interested, as quickly as possible charge the phone, it should be clear that in the world of computing there are two standards for a universal serial bus - USB 2.0 and 3.0 (older versions are actually no longer found). Is it worth it, therefore, for insurance, you can use fast charging only in. One difference is the amount of current that can be transferred through the corresponding port. In version 2, its value reaches 500 mA. But in the newer revision 3.0, not only the data exchange speeds, but also the power circuit were changed, so it became possible to transmit as much as 900 mA through such a USB port. Thus, one of the effective and harmless options is charge phone without charging, is to connect the mobile phone to the computer USB 3.0 connector and monitor the process of filling the battery. Since the port itself in the standards is externally similar, to determine which is which, it is recommended to use the annotation for the motherboard or laptop. Some manufacturers highlight the newest, third version of the nest in color, but this is probably an exception. In principle, this method is similar to replacing the charger with a more massive one.

Take advantage of the software feature

To those who are looking for a working method, how charge faster phone, we can recommend looking through the annotation for the computer board. Is it possible to charge a device that needs to be charged for 3-4 hours by charging a regular phone with “fast” charging? In almost all modern solutions, manufacturers provide the possibility of accelerated charging of the phone battery. For example, Asus offers proprietary technology proudly called AiCharger. Although there is nothing revolutionary about it, it still works. All you have to do is install the application of the same name and connect your phone to the port. With all this, the current passing through the connector increases to 1-1.2 A. A similar mechanism is offered by the Gigabyte company. On boards from this manufacturer, the function of increasing the current per port is called On/Off Charge (from time to time 3x USB power boost). To do this, you will need a regular one, then the vape can be charged from whether it really is. True, the phone will have to be connected to certain connectors, which are indicated in the instructions. These abilities are still inferior in terms of ease of use to the usual replacement of the charger.

Buy a special USB cable

Everyone knows what a standard universal serial bus wire looks like. But owners of external hard drives and floppy drives are familiar with converted USB cords, made in the shape of the letter Y. On one side of this wire there is a plug connected to the device (phone, CD drive), and on the other there are two connectors connected to free USB connectors on the computer. This is a typical “tee”. When using it, the output current is practically multiplied. In other words, for USB 3.0, at a theoretical level, you can get 1800 mA. The disadvantage of this charging method is that not everyone has a Y-wire at hand.

Turn off your device

There is a completely effective solution, how to quickly charge the phone. Many mobile phone owners do not charge their electronic assistant correctly. You can speed up this process by simply turning off the phone's power while charging the battery. Sometimes this gives an almost twofold reduction in the time spent.

Now we have to find out how to properly charge your phone battery. Are there any peculiarities to this process? Some people argue that the quality of the telephone battery directly depends on the correctness of this process. Is this actually true? What theories are there regarding charging devices? I have the most...
