He also said: “The house in which the Almighty is remembered and in which the Most High is not remembered are like the living and the dead.” (Muslim)

1. The best dhikr

The best form of remembering Allah is: "La ilaha illallah" (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah).

The best form of praising Allah is: "Alhamdulillah" (All praise belongs to Allah). (Tirmidhi)

2. The best prayer for praising Allah

“SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi adada halkihi wa ridda nafsihi vazinata arshihi wa midada kalimatihi”

(Glory and praise belong to Allah as much as His creations, as much as it suffices Him, as much as His Throne weighs and as much as the ink for His words).

3. The best prayer (dua)

“Rabbana atina fid-dunya hassanatau wa fil-ahirati hassanatau wa kyina gazabannar.”

(Oh, our Lord! Grant us blessings in this life and the next, save us from the torment of Hell!)

4. The best prayer for repentance

The hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) narrated by Shadad ibn Aws states:

“The most perfect prayer of repentance is the slave’s appeal to his Creator:

“Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illya anta, halyaktani wa ana abduk, wa ana ala ahdikya, wa wa’dikya mastatatu. Auzu bikya min sharri ma sanatu, abuu lakya bi - ni'matika aleya va abuu laka bizanbi fagfir lii fa - innahu la yagfiruz - zunuba illya anta."

(My Allah! You are my Lord. There is no deity but You worthy of worship. You created me. I am your slave. And I try to the best of my ability to keep the oath of obedience and fidelity to You. I resort to You for protection from the evil of the mistakes and sins I have committed I thank You for all the blessings You have given, and I ask you to forgive my sins, for there is no one but You who forgives sins.

5. The best prayer for protection

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No harm will come to him of you who says to Allah three times morning and evening:

“Bismillahi llazi la yadurru maasmihi shayun fil ardy wa la fi ssamai wa huva Ssamiul Alim.”

(In the name of Allah, in whose name nothing will cause harm either on earth or in heaven, because He is the Hearing, the Knowing!).

6. The best prayer for depression

Prophet Yunus, being in the belly of a whale, addressed Allah with the following prayer:

“La ilaha illya anta subhanaka inni kuntu min az-zalimin.”

(There is no god but You! Most pure are You! Truly, I was one of the oppressors! (Sura Al-Anbiya, verse 87).

“Without a doubt, if a Muslim does not address this prayer to anyone other than Allah, his prayer will be accepted.” (Tirmidhi)

7. The best prayer to achieve inner peace and tranquility

Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him!) reported: “The Messenger of Allah turned to me: “Should I lead you to one of the treasures of Paradise?”

"Repeat: “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” (Strength and might belong only to Allah).

It is reported from Ibn Umar that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went to bed, he said the following words: “Praise be to Allah, who provided for me and gave me shelter, fed me and gave me something to drink, who generously bestowed His mercy on me. Praise be to Allah in any situation. O Allah, Lord of every thing and its ruler, I seek refuge in You from the Fire.”

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever says this dua before going to bed will praise Allah in all forms from all creation.”

الحمدُ لله الذي كفاني وآواني، وأطعمني وسقاني، والذي منَّ عليَّ فأفضَلَ، والذي أعطاني فأجزَل، الحمدُ لله على كل حال، اللهم ربَّ كل شيءٍ ومليكَه وإلهَ كل شيءٍ، أعوذ بك من النار

عن أنس بن مالك قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (من قال إذا أوَى إلى فراشه :

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَفَانِي وَآوَانِي ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي وَسَقَانِي ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي مَنَّ عَلَيَّ وأَفْضَلَ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعِزَّتِكَ أَنْ تُنَجِّيَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ؛ فقدْ حَمِدَ الله بجميع محامدِ الخلقِ كلِّهم)

أخرجه الحاكم والبيهقي وقال الحاكم: “صحيح الإسناد”. ووافقه الذهبي.

Alhamdulillahil-lyazi kafani wa avani wa atamani wa sakani, val-lyazi manna aleya fa-afdal, val-lyazi atani fa-ajzal. Alhamdulillahi ala kuli hal. Allahumma raba kulli sheyin wa malikahu wa ilaha kulli shey, auzu bika minan-nar.

The praise of Allah in all forms from all creation, which is contained in this dua, is very easy to perform, very quick, but it contains limitless reward for the one who makes it his daily prayer.

    Imam Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) in the book “al-Zuhd” quotes from the words of Hassan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), the words of the prophet Davud (peace be upon him), who said:

    “My Lord, if each hair of mine had a pair of tongues that would glorify You day and night, all my life, I would not be able to thank You for even one benefit You have shown me.”

    روى الإمام أحمد في الزهد عن الحسن قال : قال داود » إلهي لو أن لكل شعرة مني لسانين يسبحانك الليل والنهار والدهر كله ما قضيت حق نعمة واحدة

    The same book also quotes the words of al-Mughira bin Utba:

    “When the Almighty sent down a command to the prophet Dawood, saying: “Express your gratitude, family of Dawood. How few among My servants are grateful to Me,” he turned to the Almighty: “My Lord, how can I give You praise when You give me benefits, and then grace me with gratitude to You for the benefits You have provided. And then in this way you increase my benefits, so how can I give you gratitude? Then the Almighty answered him: “Now you have come to know Me, Dauud.”

    Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran:

    وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَمُوتَ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ الله كِتَابًا مُّؤَجَّلاً وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَن

    يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِين

    “No person will die except with the permission of Allah, at the time prescribed [by Him]. To anyone who desires reward in earthly life, We will give it in this life. And whoever desires reward in the future life, we will give it then. We will reward those who are grateful [to Us].” (Ali Imran, 3/145)

    Another verse says:

    مَّا يَفْعَلُ اللّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمْ إِن شَكَرْتُمْ وَآمَنتُمْ وَكَانَ اللّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمًا

    “Will Allah punish you if you are grateful [to Him] and believe [in Him]? Indeed, Allah rewards the grateful and knows what they do.”

    The Holy Quran also says:

    وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ

    “If you are grateful, I will certainly increase [the benefits and mercy] for you. And if you are ungrateful, then a severe punishment will befall you.”

    Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

    “On the Day of Judgment it will be proclaimed:

    Stand up, those who thanked Allah in any position, and then a group of people will stand up, and a banner will be unfurled for them, and under it they will enter Paradise.”

    In the book Al-Badr al-Munir there is a saying that says: “Giving praise to Allah in gratitude for His benefits guarantees that He will not deprive this benefit.”

    Another hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), quoted by Abu Dawud (may Allah be pleased with him) says:

    “Whoever, after putting on the clothes, says, “Praise be to Allah, who gave me these clothes without my effort and diligence,” all previous sins will be forgiven.”

    The best phrase to express gratitude to Allah is:

    الحمدلله حمداً يوافي نعمه ويكافيء مزيده

    (meaning) “Praise be to Allah in such quantity and quality that would be sufficient in gratitude to all His blessings with which He has endowed me and for the benefits He will endow me with in the future.”

    “When Allah Almighty sent Adam (peace be upon him) to Earth, he turned to Allah with the words: “O my Lord, teach me various crafts and teach me words that would contain the meaning of all praises to You.” Then Allah sent down a revelation to Adam (peace be upon him): “Say every morning and evening three times, “Praise be to Allah in such quantity and quality that would be sufficient in gratitude to all His benefits that He has endowed me with and for those benefits that He will endow in the future. Truly I have combined in this phrase the meaning of all types of praise."

    From the above it is clear that if we want to gain the pleasure of the Almighty, constantly abide in His blessings and never be deprived of them, we need to thank Him as often and as much as possible.

    In one of the qudsi hadiths, transmitted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), it is said: “Allah Almighty said: “I divided the prayer into two parts, one of which is for me, and the other for my slave. In it he will be given whatever he desires.” The slave will say: “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!”

    And Allah Almighty will say: “My servant praises Me, and he will be given what he wants!”

    The servant of Allah will say: “To the Most Gracious and Merciful.”

    The Almighty will answer: “My servant praised Me properly!” He will be given everything he wants.

    When the servant of Allah says: - To the Lord of the Day of Judgment.

    The Almighty will answer this: “My servant has exalted me, and this is what is by right Mine.” One part of this verse belongs to Me, and the second part belongs to my servant.

    The slave will say: “We worship You and ask You for help!”

    To which Allah will say: “This is what is between Me and my slave.” And he will be given what he desires. The last verse belongs to my slave.

    And when the slave says: “Guide us to the right path.” The path of those to whom it was given. Not those with whom You were angry, and not those who came down from him. - This is what is due to My servant.

    And he will be given what he asks for, says the Almighty.” (Ibn Majah, Adab, 52; Tirmidhi, Tafsirul-Kur’an, 1).

    A person who praises Allah is a slave who thanks Him.

    This is indicated by the Hadith of the Blessed Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Praise is the beginning of gratitude, and the one who does not praise Allah does not thank Him” (Beyhaki, Shuabul-iman, IV, 96; Dailami, Firdavs, II, 155).

    It is the praise of Allah that is the remembrance and exaltation of the One who bestowed blessings, directed him to good endeavors and protected his slave from troubles.

    However, true praise is not limited to just saying “Alhamdu lillah”.

    It is important that a person’s thoughts are filled with Allah, his heart is filled with faith in Him, and his organs bring benefits on His path, which will become an integral part of a person’s life.

    Praise is at the same time gratitude for the benefits received and a manifestation of submission to His unlimited power in moments when one has to experience moments of trial.

    The great mentor, Sheikh Abdul-Qadir Geylani (Rahmatullahi Alaikh) said: “We must be on the path of gratitude to Allah for His gifts to us. There are three types of gratitude – with the tongue, with the heart, with all the organs.”

    Gratitude with the tongue is the recognition that everything belongs to Allah Almighty. You must realize that all the ways through which good comes to you are from Allah.

    The Giver of everything, the Creator of everything, the Performer of everything, the Presenter of everything – this is He.

    Allah is the most worthy of gratitude. Who should I thank? The one who brought the gift, or the one who gave it to you? Those. one must express respect and gratitude to the Almighty.

    The one who sees superficially and does not see the true essence is considered ignorant.

    You need to realize that everything that is good in a person, be it external, internal or his deeds, is all the mercy of Allah.

    Gratitude in the heart is a state of conviction in this, a firm belief in it and an inner attachment to it. Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran:

    نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ وَمَا بِكُم مِّن

    (meaning) “All the blessings that you have are from Allah. And if any misfortune happens to you, then cry out to Him in prayer.” (An-Nakhl, 16/53)

    There is another verse (meaning) in the Holy Quran:

    “Have you not realized that Allah has subordinated to you what is in the heavens and on earth, and has bestowed upon you favors both obvious and hidden [from your understanding]? Among people there are those who argue about the [Essence and Attributes] of Allah, having neither knowledge nor guidance from the Prophet, nor Scripture that would illuminate the path to the Truth.” (Lukman, 31/20)

    Gratitude from all organs.

    It is using all your organs to worship Allah. This is not to succumb to the desires of the ego, the shaitan, and not to listen to any orders that contradict the commands of Allah.

    Allah Almighty said in the Holy Quran (meaning):

    “You worship idols instead of Allah and affirm lies. Verily, those whom you worship instead of Allah do not have the power to grant you sustenance (rizaq). So seek your livelihood from Allah, worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned." (Al-Ankabut, 29/17)

    The Holy Qur'an also says (meaning):

    “We, verily, gave wisdom to Luqman [with the command]: “Give thanks to Allah! The one who gives thanks [does it] only for himself. And if someone is ungrateful, then Allah does not need him, for He deserves praise, even if no one glorifies Him! ”(Luqman, 31/12)

    The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

    “Whoever revives my Sunnah, which was killed by people after me, will receive a reward similar to those who performed this Sunnah, which will not reduce their own reward!”

    One of these desirable sunnahs is to perform sajdah shukr.

    There are many hadiths that talk about this. One of them is a hadith transmitted by Abu Bara: “When the good news reached the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, he bowed to the ground, showing gratitude to Allah.”

    Sajdah shukr is a prostration performed outside of prayer, as a sign of gratitude to Allah, for various reasons.

    The first reason: as a sign of gratitude to Allah for His gifts for him, his children, or other Muslims.

    The second reason: as a sign of gratitude to Allah for averting trouble from him or another.

    For example: salvation from fire, from a house collapse, from wild animals, etc.

    For all of the above, it is advisable to bow to the ground in front of people, except in cases where this could hurt the heart of someone present. For example, performing sajdah shukr in the presence of someone who cannot have children, or performing sajdah shukr for receiving wealth in the presence of someone who does not have money.

    The third reason: as a sign of gratitude to Allah for health, at the sight of someone stricken by illness, regardless of whether the illness affected the mind or the body. In this case, it is advisable to perform sajdah shukr as a sign of gratitude to Allah for saving you from this.

    It is advisable to make the following dua when you see such a person:

    “Al-hamdu li-Llyahi-llazi ‘afani wa ma-btalani wa faddalya-ni ‘ala kyasiri mmimman halyakahu tafzdylyan!”

    الْحَمْـدُ للهِ الّذي عافاني وما ابْتَـلاني، وَفَضَّلَـني عَلى كَثيـرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَـقَه تَفْضـيلا

    Praise be to Allah, who delivered me, did not strike me [with this disease], and gave me preference over many of those whom He created!

    You should not perform sajdah shukr in front of this sick person, as this may hurt his heart. If the patient is a sinner (for example, a thief whose hand was cut off did not perform tawba), then sajdah should be performed in front of him in order to remind him of the repentance.

    The fourth reason: at the sight of a sinner, be he an infidel or a fascist. Having seen such a person, it is advisable to perform sajdah shukr in front of him so that he forsakes his sins and repents.

    Method of performing sajdah shukr

    The method of performing “sajdah shukr” is the same as performing “sajdah tilyavat” outside the prayer: that is, it is one sajdah with the intention, an introductory takbir, and salam after the sajdah.

    It is advisable to raise your hands while pronouncing the introductory takbir.

    To perform sajda, it is necessary to comply with all the conditions of prayer: the awrat must be closed; the performer must have a small and complete ablution;

    he must turn towards the qibla.

    It can also be done while riding an animal or in a car.

    If, after receiving a gift from Allah, the time for performing two rak'ahs of prayer has passed, and Sajdah Shukri has not been performed, then it is considered missed, and attention must also be paid to this.

    According to Ibn Hajar, may Allah have mercy on him, it is better, not limiting himself to performing only one prostration, to give alms, to perform two rak'ah prayers with the intention of performing the desired prayer.

    In the Shafi'i madhhab there are no prostrations except three: 1-sajdah sahw, 2-sajdah tilyava and 3-sajdah shukr.

    An expression of exaltation and gratitude to Allah is showing respect to the Shiar, i.e. to everything that reminds of the Creator.

    For example: the Koran, the Kaaba, prayer five times a day, sacrifice, walking during a pilgrimage between the mountains of Safa and Marwa - all this is Shiar, i.e. signs, symbols of faith and serves to create a feeling of closeness to the Lord.

    Allah Almighty, so that people can best understand sublime concepts, puts them into simple forms. These concepts are easily understood and perceived by the human mind. Therefore, the respect shown towards the symbols of Islam at the same time expresses respect and admiration for Allah. And disrespect for the symbols of Islam is an expression of disrespect for the Lord.

    The Koran is one of the symbols of Islam; it was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as a set of Divine commands and instructions. Therefore, respect for the Quran means respect for Allah.

    In order to understand and understand every Divine revelation, the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) rushed towards it with all his heart, renouncing the outside world.

    The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) loved reading the Koran, and at the same time tears of tenderness flowed down his cheeks, which in itself testified to the strength and depth of respect that he had for God’s word. The lover turns into eyes and ears when he hears the voice of the object of love, and for him there is nothing in the world more soulful and sweeter than these sounds.

    Imam Tirmidhi reported from Abu Said the following words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): The Blessed and Most High Lord said: “If a person is distracted from asking Me by the Quran and the remembrance of Me, then My favors to him will be better than those that I give to those who ask.” He also said: The superiority of Allah's words over all other words is like the superiority of Allah over His creation. (Hasan Hadith)

    Imam Tirmidhi reported the words of Ali: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “Trials will come like parts of the dark night.” - Prophet, how to avoid them? – I asked. – The Book of the Blessed and Almighty Allah contains your history, information about what happened before you, news about the future and the correct norms in the relationship between you. This Book is not a joke, but is of decisive importance. Allah will crush any tyrant who refuses it. Allah will mislead the one who seeks guidance other than from her. This is a strong connection from Allah, His clear light, a wise reminder. This is the direct path. Desires do not go astray because of the Qur'an, tongues do not become saturated with it, the pious do not get bored with it, it does not wear out from repeated reading, and its miracles do not cease. This is the Book that the jinn no longer left once they heard it. They said: “We have heard the wonderful Quran leading to right guidance.” Whoever knows him has priority knowledge. Whoever pronounces it speaks the truth. He who judges according to it is just. Whoever acts according to it is rewarded. Whoever calls to him is guided on the straight path. Take it, one-eyed one. (Ali addresses Ibrahim Nahai, who had one eye)

    As for prayer, which is also a symbol of faith, the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) attached great importance to it. Having said:

    “When you stand in prayer, surely Allah is in front of you.”

    The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) advised to perform prayers sincerely, imbued with a sense of piety and fear of God.

    The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Namaz is the support of religion. Whoever abandons prayer destroys his religion.”

    The message that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, conveys from the words of his Lord (hadith qudsi), says: “I have made praying five times a duty for your community (ummah). I promised the one who would fulfill it in a timely manner - Paradise, and the one who would not fulfill it, I did not promise anything.”

    The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Whoever recites six rakyaats after the evening prayer al-Maghrib, his sins will be forgiven, even if their number is equal to the amount of foam in the sea.”

    in an authentic hadith, reported from the words of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

    Indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, the reckoning with the servant of Allah will first of all be made for his prayers, and if they are good, he will succeed and achieve what he wants, and if they turn out to be unsuitable, then he will fail and suffer a loss. If shortcomings are discovered in regard to the fulfillment of this duty, the Almighty and Great Lord will say: “See if My servant has anything he has done voluntarily, so that through this he can make up for the shortcomings in the obligatory,” and then with all his other affairs (they will do) the same. at-Tirmidhi

    The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) always claimed that prayers were “a treat for the eyes” for him.

    Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) devoted his life to the spread of Islam and the education of his companions in the light of Divine teaching. For him, prayer was a source of inspiration and peace, so he wanted every believer to perform prayers in the best possible way. During the army's departure for the Battle of Muta, Abdullah bin Rawaha approached the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), from the anticipation of separation from whom he suffered greatly, and said goodbye to him. Then Abdullah asked the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam):

    O Messenger of Allah! Advise me something that I would remember and never forget.

    Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) told him:

    Tomorrow you will go to a country where very few people worship Allah. Try to read Namaz there as much as possible! (Wakidi, 2, 758)

    Respect when addressing the Great and Mighty Allah

    We see the gifts of Allah, thank Him and show respect when addressing the Great and Mighty Allah in thoughts and words. It is impossible not to be respectful of a thing in which there is a remembrance of Allah Almighty. We are obliged to respect and exalt the names of Allah Almighty. Respect also includes the fact that we do not call anyone by those names that can only be called Allah Almighty.

    This goes back to exalting the rites of Allah Almighty, as He said:

    وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ

    “And if anyone honors the ritual signs of Allah, then this comes from fear of God in the hearts.” (Surah al-Hajj, verse 32)

    ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ

    "Like this! Whoever honors the shrines of Allah does good for himself before his Lord.” (Surah al-Hajj, verse 30)

    “Ritual signs” are everything that Allah Almighty commanded to exalt. His beautiful names are also among those things that we are commanded to honor. Therefore, scientists say that it is forbidden to treat His names carelessly, including when they are written in newspapers or on paper, and one cannot throw them in the trash. They cite these two verses as their argument.

    One saint named Bishri Khafi was a great sinner in his youth. But one incident changed his life. One day he was walking about his business and suddenly saw a piece of paper with Arabic script on the road. Picking up the paper, he kissed it and brought it to his head. Then, after applying incense, he placed it in a secluded place. At night, in a dream, he heard a voice from heaven:

    “You have covered Our name with incense and shown respect and reverence. I swear by My power, I will make you famous in both worlds!”

    Hearing this voice, Bishr jumped out of bed and, sincerely repenting of his sins, rushed with his soul to Allah.

    As we see, our ancestors sought to show respect for everything that related to Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Such an attitude towards Muslim values ​​and shrines has become commonplace for every believer.

  • Dua is considered one of the forms of worship of Allah Almighty. A person who turns to the Creator with a request confirms his belief that only Allah the Almighty can give a person everything he needs, that He is the only one on whom one should rely and to whom one should turn with prayers.

    Allah likes those who often turn to Him with various (permissible according to Sharia, halal) requests.

    Dua is a weapon of a Muslim, which is given to him by Allah.

    Once the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) asked: “Do you want me to teach you a remedy that will help you overcome the misfortunes and troubles that have overcome you?” “We want,” the companions answered. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: “If you read the dua “La illaha illya anta subhanakya inni kuntu minaz-zalimin”, and if you read the dua for a fellow believer who is absent at that moment, then the dua will be accepted by Allah.” There are angels next to the one who reads the dua and repeat: “Amen. May it be the same for you"

    Dua is worship for which there is a reward from Allah and there is a certain order for performing dua:

    2. The dua should begin with the words of praise to Allah Almighty: “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin”, then you need to read the salawat to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam): “Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa ala ali Muhammadin wa sallim”, then you need to repent of your sins: “ Astaghfirullah."

    3. If the dua contains important requests, then before it begins, you need to perform ablution, and if it is very important, then you need to bathe completely (take a ghusl)

    4.When reading dua, it is advisable to turn towards the qibla.

    5.Hands should be held in front of your face, palms up. After completing the dua, you need to run your hands over your face so that the barakat that fills your palms touches your face. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Truly, your Lord, the Living, the Generous, cannot refuse His servant if he raises his hands in supplication.”

    6. It is advisable to repeat your request at least three times.

    The request must be made in a respectful tone, quietly, so that others do not hear, and one must not turn one’s gaze to the heavens.

    At the end of the dua, you must, as at the beginning, say words of praise to Allah and salawat to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) then say:

    سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ .

    وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ .وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

    “Subhana Rabbikya Rabbil 'izatti 'amma yasifun.

    Wa salamun ‘alal mursalin.

    Wal-hamdulillahi Rabbil 'alamin."

    It is reported that Fadala bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Once the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) heard how one person, during his prayer, began to make supplications to Allah, without first praising Allah and without turning to to Him with prayers for the Prophet, (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and he said: “This man hastened!”, after which he called him to him and said:

    “When any of you (wants) to turn to Allah with a prayer, let him begin by giving praise to his Glorious Lord and glorifying Him, then let him invoke blessings on the Prophet,” (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and then then he asks for whatever he wants.”

    A post by a Muslim on Facebook remained in my memory for a long time. “I,” he writes, “work in the same office with an atheist. One day we had some free time, and we turned a trash can into a basketball basket and started throwing paper “balls” into it. We both try our best, but success does not smile on anyone.

    Then an atheist colleague, wanting to make fun of me, said: “Try making a dua - maybe it will help.” I defiantly uttered the words of a request for help to the Almighty and, being confident in my success and trusting in the Creator, I threw the “ball” towards the basket. This time the “ball” hit the target without much difficulty and without missing a beat. The colleague, trying to hide his embarrassment and displeasure, continued his throws, but without success. He tried to calculate the trajectory of the ball (he is a talented mathematician), made every effort and ingenuity, but still the goal turned out to be unattainable for him.”

    In such cases, the reaction of the non-believer to events is the same: the success of the one making dua is random luck, but the connection with the Almighty, the secret power of contact with Him is completely denied. Only believers are convinced that requests for help from Allah, especially at critical moments in life, are not left unanswered. For a person praying, a 180-degree turn of events is quite expected; lightning-fast changes in the trajectory of life at a sincere request are not uncommon phenomena. And there are no random coincidences. Asking for good for yourself, for good in both lives, is an everyday custom for sincere Muslims, this is worship.

    However, like any other connection with the Merciful, prayer requires certain knowledge and effort. The dua of an ignorant person can harm him so much that he becomes nervous. Depression can be caused by a long absence of an answer or, conversely, by the fact that instead of the expected relief, the slave receives an instant aggravation of the situation: things begin to go so badly that the ignoramus falls into despair. At one time, I had to read a letter from one young Muslim, in whose life a series of difficult events began to occur. Repeated pleas for help to the One who opens the gates of goodness and blessings only worsened his situation: with each new dua, his life became more and more unbearable. The young man, ignorant of experience and knowledge, could not understand that the events of his life were the good answer of the All-Seeing and All-Hearing Lord.

    Even many smart non-Muslims know well: blows of fate are not a reason for depression, they are a powerful impetus to action, and they call them magic motivating kick. Oscar Wilde, the famous English thinker and writer, puts it this way: “I would wholeheartedly advise you not to bend under the burden of grief. What we see as hardships are sometimes actually blessings in disguise.” Lazy, careless souls need the motivating answer of Almighty Allah in the form of a test like air, like a sip of water in a waterless desert. Trials usually begin to haunt us when we ask for a benefit, but ourselves do nothing to achieve the goal. The slave asks Allah for the highest levels of Paradise, but does not increase his good deeds, and Al-Mujib (the Receiver of prayers and requests) accepts his prayer and sends tests, through them elevating him and exalting him, and at the same time rewarding the slave with patience. To the non-active person asking for worldly benefits, the answer may be the same: motivating difficulties do not keep us waiting long.

    If we do not want difficulties and trials, it is better to leave our comfort zone of our own free will and begin to act. The algorithm of our actions must correspond to the sunnah of our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Strive for it and achieve what will benefit you, ask Allah for help and act.” Moreover, while acting, we should not for a moment reduce the degree of purposefulness and perseverance if we really sincerely want to acquire something useful and pleasing to God. Let us remember the words of the great inventor Thomas Edison: “I can’t be discouraged that easily, because every failed attempt is another step forward for me.” Complaining about failures and whining can not only close the doors of good, but an ungrateful appellant can lose what he already has.

    Inexhaustible faith in the answer of the Almighty is one of the main conditions for accepting a prayer. Doubts and fears are groundless and are an indicator of the insincerity and weakness of the faith of the person praying. The incredulous slave's plea is rejected. The owner of unlimited Grace and Knowledge, in his Wisdom, can reward us with an instant response, can leave a response for years, or even honor a slave with a reward in the Eternal World. The reward for dua about worldly things in the Eternal World becomes a source of endless rejoicing, this is the best that we can get for sincere requests.

    Still, the human soul is designed in such a way that we want a quick answer to our prayer. Failure to receive an answer to a request frightens us, for it may be a sign of the wrath of the Almighty. Tornadoes of disasters and hurricanes of misfortune, indeed, can be not just a test, but a punishment from the Creator. A string of failures - in most cases this is the result of our disobedience to Allah. We know that “misfortunes come only with sins,” and we remember the words of the Almighty (meaning): “...everything bad that befalls you comes from yourself...” (Quran, 4:79). A rejected prayer is a great misfortune and we must make every effort to accept the dua. Daily introspection and self-reporting, repentance for sins and repeated istighfar (request for forgiveness), renunciation of reprehensible, illicit, haram food and clothing should become the habit of a Muslim. We are obliged not only to renounce what is blameworthy, but also to call others to good and warn against what is condemned, and never forget the frighteningly clear words of the great Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “I swear by Allah, you must encourage what is approved and restrain you from what is blameworthy, otherwise Allah will not hesitate to punish you, after which you will ask Him, but He will not answer you” (Ahmad).

    How blind and deaf we are in our society of general depravity and complacency! This willful blindness can cost us great trials, distance from the mercy of Allah. Purification with sincere repentance and requests for forgiveness, correction of mistakes made is the only way out in such a situation. We remember the encouraging words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “If a person does not stop asking for forgiveness with his tongue (istighfar), Allah Almighty will show him a way out of any difficult situation, grant him relief from every sorrow and grant him food in a way that he did not expect.”Let us remember the prayer of the Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him): “La ilaha illa Anta, Subhanakya inni kuntu min azzalimin.” Sincere praise of the Almighty and accusing oneself of disobedience, and accusing oneself with tears in the eyes and bitterness in the heart, with deep regret - this is the path to accepting dua. Praising the Creator occupies a special place in prayer, while there should not be even a shadow of dissatisfaction with one’s situation in the soul, for ungrateful hearts do not deserve an answer. How often do we forget about this! Complaining about the obstacles of fate, the slave distances himself from the Lord, he himself puts an obstacle in the way of prayer, and despair does not take long to arrive. Such prayers can give nothing but stress and depression. Allah Himself warns slaves about this (meaning): “If he had not been one of the glorifiers, he would certainly have remained in her womb until the day when they were resurrected” (37:143–144).

    Another one of the most important aspects for obtaining an answer, which we should never forget, the Almighty points out to us in the Quran (meaning): “... Call upon Him with fear and hope. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is close to those who do good” (7:56). Doing good in the name of the Lord is the best way to quickly respond to the requests of a slave. In a conversation with Caliph Suleiman ibn ‘Abd al-Malik, the judge of Medina, Salama ibn Dinar, answered the question “Which prayer is answered most quickly?” answered like this: “To the prayer of the doer of good, with which he turns to Allah for those who do good.”

    There is a category of people whose requests are certainly satisfied. These are the close ones of Allah.P The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allah said: “I have already declared war on whoever is at enmity with My companion! Of all the actions through which My servant approaches Me, I love most what I have charged him with. And through additional instructions, My servant continues to approach Me until I love him. If I love him, then I will become the hearing with which he hears, and the sight with which he sees, and the hand with which he grasps, and the foot with which he walks. If he asks Me for anything, I will certainly give it to him; if he seeks refuge with Me, I will certainly provide it to him, and nothing I do makes Me hesitate as much as the need to take the soul of a believer who does not want death, for I do not want harm done to him.”

    The path to the love of the Almighty is open and clear. However, there are not many people walking this road.

    Expressing gratitude to the Almighty for the benefits He provides for us is an integral part of our religion. For the Almighty commanded even the most beloved of all his prophets, Muhammad (peace and blessings of the Almighty upon them all), to be grateful for what Allah has blessed him with and to express it (gratitude).

    (meaning): " Tell people about the blessings that your Lord has given you "(Surah al-Zuha, verse 11).

    وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ

    Thus, each of us is obliged to be grateful to Allah for his gifts - for those that we know and those that we do not know.

    Imam Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) in the book "al-Zuhd", quotes from the words of Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said that the prophet Dawud (peace be upon him) said: " My Lord, if each of my hairs had a pair of tongues that would glorify You day and night, all my life, I would not be able to thank You for even one benefit You have shown me".

    روى الإمام أحمد في الزهد عن الحسن قال : قال داود " إلهي لو أن لكل شعرة مني لسانين يسبحانك الليل والنهار والدهر كله ما قضيت حق نعمة واحدة " .

    The same book quotes the words of al-Mughir bin Utbat: " When the Almighty sent down a command to the prophet Davud, saying: “Express gratitude, family of Davud. How few of My servants are grateful to Me,” he turned to the Almighty: “My Lord, how can I give You praise when it is You who give me blessings, and then you grace me with gratitude to You for the benefits You have shown, and then in this way you increase my benefits, so how can I give you gratitude? Then the Almighty answered him: “Now you have come to know Me, Davud"

    وروي فيه أيضا عن المغيرة بن عتبة قال : " لما أنزل الله على داود "اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا وَقَلِيلٌ مِنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ" قال يا رب كيف أطيق شكرك وأنت الذي تنعم علي ثم ترزقني على النعمة الشكر ثم تزيدني نعمة بعد نعمة ، فالنعمة منك يا رب ، فكيف أطيق شكرك ؟ قال الآن عرفتني يا داود "

    The hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) says: “ Allah loves when He is praised »

    ان الله عز وجل يحب أن يحمد

    Another saying cited by al-Dailami says: “ Allah loves praise ". This hadith is also cited by Imam Ahmad in his collection “Musnadu-Ahmad”.

    ان الله يحب الحمد

    There is a saying in the book Al-Badr al-Munir that says: “ Giving praise to Allah in gratitude for His benefits ensures that He will not deprive this benefit».

    حمد الله امان للنعمة من زوالها

    Another hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), reported by Abu Dawud (may Allah be pleased with him) says:

    « Anyone who, after putting on clothes, says “praise be to Allah, who gave me these clothes without my effort and diligence,” will have all previous sins forgiven ».

    من لبس ثوبا فقال الحمد لله الذي كساني هذا الثوب من غير حول مني ولا قوة غفر له ما تقدم

    The best phrase to express gratitude to Allah is:

    الحمدلله حمداً يوافي نعمه ويكافيء مزيده

    (meaning) " Praise be to Allah in such quantity and quality that would be sufficient in gratitude to all His blessings that He has endowed me with and for those benefits that He will provide in the future».

    The argument in favor of the fact that this formulation of gratitude is the best is some sayings that say: “When Allah Almighty sent Adam (peace be upon him) to Earth, he turned to Allah with the words: “O my Lord, teach me various crafts and teach me words that would contain the meaning of all praises to You.” Then Allah sent down a revelation to Adam (peace be upon him): “Say every morning and evening three times, “Praise be to Allah in such quantity and quality that would be sufficient in gratitude to all His benefits that He has endowed me with and for those benefits that He will endow in the future. Truly I have combined in this phrase the meaning of all types of praise."

    Some theologians say that the best form of praise is to say:

    الحمد لله بجميع محامده كلها ما علمت منها وما لم أعلم عدد خلقه كلهم ما علمت منهم وما لم اعلم

    (meaning) " Praise be to Allah with all types of praise, those that I know and do not know, in an amount equal to all His creations, of which I know and do not know.» .

    And as proof of the greatness of this phrase, they cite a story that tells that a certain Muslim uttered this phrase during the Hajj, while in the Valley of Arafah. The next year, that Muslim again went on a pilgrimage to Mecca and, again while on Arafah, wanted to utter the same phrase of praise. At that moment he heard the voice of an angel who said: “O servant of Allah, truly you have tired your angels who record the deeds (al-hafaza), because they are still recording the rewards for your praise with these words last year.”

    Based on the above arguments, theologians decided that if a person swears that he will give Allah the best praise, he will not be able to keep his oath except by uttering one of the above two phrases.
