Adding a downloaded game

Play on both PC and Mac?

Some of our games are cross-platform. This means that if you purchase a game and add it to your account, you will be able to play it on both PC and Mac.

Launch the Origin client.
Sign in to your EA Account.
Open game library.
- Follow these instructions to find missing games from your library.
Loading the game:
- Press gray down arrow in the lower left corner of the game icon.
- Right click on the game icon and select "Download".

Why am I getting an error saying the game has been used on too many computers?

If you receive a message like “Too many computers are trying to access the game under this account. Please try again later", then the issue may be that within 24 hours you can install the game on a maximum of five computers. This is outlined in our Service Agreement.

Using a different computer, replacing the hardware in your computer, or using a virtual machine counts as using a new computer. It may take up to 24 hours before the game can be restarted.

If you receive an error message after 24 hours, please contact us and we will help you.

You can set the maximum download speed for your games and choose whether to download games while you're in a game.

Here's how to do it:

Launch the Origin client.
Click on the button Origin at the top of the menu.
Select "Application Settings".

How it works:

Under the heading "Download restrictions" you will see dropdowns for maximum download speed out of the game And during the game. Select the maximum download speed from the list or option "No limit".
You can choose "Do not load games on time", so you don't have to download anything while you're in the game.

Cloud saves are tied to a specific platform. If you saved the game on PC, you will only be able to access your cloud saves on PC. The same goes for Mac.

Achievements for many EA games can be viewed directly in Origin. To see what achievements you have received, go to your profile page.

What are Origin Points?

Origin Points helps you track achievements and measure your overall progress in some of our games, and also gives you the ability to compare scores with your friends. Try to score as many points as possible and beat them!

Want to know how many Origin points and achievements you have? Press "Achievements" on the “Origin in game” screen, click on the item "Achievements" on the game information page.
